JHS cross country heads to State meet

It’s go time for the Jefferson High cross country team. They finish the season Saturday at the State meet in Helena on the Bill Roberts Golf Course. For the boys, the starting pistol fires at 11:30 and the girls follow at 12:35.

The final regular-season meet for the Panthers was held this past Saturday at Townsend. A total of ten boys and four girls, one of the largest turnouts for the Panthers in several seasons, completed the season. Hunter Henschel was out front for the Panthers in a time of 18:44. Andy Johnson was the next Panther across the line in 19:55. Noah Anspach, Gabe Gilmore and Hunter Gilbert all finished in the next minute in times of 20:31, 20:39 and 20:49, respectively. Other finishers for the boys were Drew McManus in 21:11, Christian Davis in 22:05, Will Robson in 23:33, Brenden Gallagher in 23:35 and Dominik Davis in 23:56. Grace Alexander led the Panther girls with a time of 23:09. Laurynn Armstrong ran the course in 25:20, Emme Rosenbaum turned in a time of 26:20 and Abbie Suppala was on Rosenbaum’s heels at 26:21.
