On March 16, 17, and 18, the Jefferson High School Thespians are taking the stage with Disney’s “The Little Mermaid.” Clara Genger, a junior, said that a musical is an opportunity for everything you always dreamed about when you were little to come to life. And that’s just what the performers plan to do – bring it all to life.

“The Little Mermaid” follows the story many are familiar with: a girl finds her way as a part of two worlds. Grace Quigley, a sophomore, takes the lead as Ariel. Quigley said that “Preparing for this musical has been fun, exciting, crazy and everything in between. Playing Ariel is my dream role and I’m so happy I get to do it with all these amazing people. I am looking forward to performing.”

Luke Mondloch, a junior playing Prince Eric, said, “If you like Disney you’ll like ‘The Little Mermaid.’ It has a great hero, a great villain, and mermaids to fish.’’ “The Little Mermaid” has something for all ages to enjoy.

Brianna Humphrey, a student teacher at JHS, has given the Thespians some extra help this year. Genger said Humphrey has added a lot of good ideas and has made being a part of the play really enjoyable.

The JHS Thespians look forward to seeing everyone come out to watch them.

Showtimes for “The Little Mermaid” at the Jefferson High School  are 7 p.m. March 16, March, 17 and March 18. There is also a matinee on March 18 at 3 p.m.
