The state Board of Education on Jan. 19 approved the Jefferson Academy, one of 19 public charter schools okayed across the state. The charter would serve 60 to 100 at-risk students from grades 5 to 12 in two locations, including those from Boulder’s Youth Dynamics Inc.’s Alternative Youth Adventures (AYA) program in Boulder. The Jefferson Academy proposal describes a start date of July 1, 2024.
