It’s autumn! Time to…do a lot

Right now is the time to plant bulbs.

What a wonderful fall we are having this year! I have lived in the Boulder area for the last 17 years, and it has been a while since we could dare to say we were having an “Indian summer” without jinxing it. But this year, the deciduous trees’ leaves have had a chance to show off their full range of fall color and we are still picking strawberries in our garden!

What can we do now to take advantage of the beautiful fall weather and prepare our garden and perennial plants for winter?

If you have read some of my past gardening articles, you probably know that I advocate using wood mulch in your landscape and garden. This is a great time to refresh that mulch in your landscape and to add mulch to all your trees, shrubs, perennial flower beds and strawberries.
