“It’s always nice to see your neighbors” at Jefferson City Community Days

Neighbors gathered at the Jefferson City Fire Hall on Saturday, Aug. 12 for the annual Jefferson City Community Day celebration.

Approximately 80 people visited the station and partook in a barbecue meal and fire fighting themed games, such as spraying targets with a fire hose and putting out burning material with a fire extinguisher.

The event, volunteer Terri Kunz told The Monitor, raised about $500 for the Jefferson City Community Center. But most of all, Kunz said the event offered an important chance for community members to reconnect with each other.
