The May 8 school election seemed to indicate voters in Boulder are generally satisfied with the way the elementary school is running. Incumbent school board members Carrie Harris and Eric Rykal were both re-elected. Harris received 201 votes, Rykal 186. Challenger Niki Conroy, who advocated a need for change in several areas, did not get a seat on the board, receiving 131 votes.
Voters in Clancy chose Marissa Ostby to fill a three-year term on the school board. Ostby received 250 votes compared to 87 votes for Clinton R. Blaricom.
Montana City voters selected Marta Bertoglio, 634 votes, and Stephanie Boysen, 581 votes, to fill the two available seats. Also running was Dennis Spencer, who received 212 votes.
In a non-school election, voters in the Bull Mountain Rural Fire District approved a ten mill levy for converting an existing Freightliner to a water tender, purchasing equipment for the water tender, and purchasing and maintaining other equipment and supporting general operations. The levy will raise approximately $10,000 per year through tax year 2021. That works out to about $27 per year on a home with a $200,000 phase-in value.
