While a proposed change in the city’s dog ordinance took up the majority of the February 21 Boulder City Council meeting (see separate article above), other actions also occupied the council.

Under correspondence, the council heard that a safety inspection by the Department of Labor was accepted and that the first day for candidates for a seat on the city council to register for the ballot is April 20.

An update on Boulder Transition Advisory Committee (BTAC) activities noted an upcoming March 2 meeting on the Main Street program. That meeting begins at 8 a.m. in the city hall.

The BTAC report also included an update on legislation in Helena regarding the Montana Developmental Center’s future. The council approved an ordinance revision on cable TV services as first reading. If adopted, the revision would change the definition of “gross revenue” in the contract with Charter.

An extension of an agreement with Morrison-Maierle Engineering for five years was approved. Representative Alan Erickson told the council a fee estimate for any proposed projects must be brought to the council for approval. The council approved an application for a kennel license at 302 Centre Street. Under the license, the owners could have up to five dogs on the property.

They submitted a petition signed by at least 75 percent of nearby property owners and met insurance requirements, the council heard. In response to a question, the council said they are not receiving regular ambulance reports as requested previously during a budget discussion.
