My brother Jim was a vibrant, eclectic, creative and charismatic character. He laughed often, and took pleasure in making others laugh, as well. He loved to dance and could make us all roar with his quirky antics, mimicking some crazy dance moves.

He took on a variety of jobs in a variety of places over the years — vinyl siding estimator, wildland forest firefighter, grocery produce manager and restaurant waiter among them. And for some time, he delivered and served meals to patients at the Montana Developmental Center in Boulder, where he was loved and respected by everyone he met. 

But in his soul, Jim was an artist, blessed with natural talent and a ton of creativity. After high school, being a proud Mormon, he attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho, to study art. Years later, he painted many landscapes in oil, fitting them in his own custom frames. He also painted and etched antique saw blades, creating beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces.
