How does Boulder’s crime rate compare to others?

According to statistics compiled by the FBI for 2015 and 2016 and shared with the Boulder City Council last week, Boulder had a higher crime rate than other similarly sized communities included in the reports. A similar report for 2017 is not yet available.

West Yellowstone, Fort Benton, Eureka, and Plains all had lower crime rates than Boulder in 2015 and Thompson Falls had roughly the same crime rate 2016 but less in 2015.

Boulder’s crime rate dropped slightly from .07 percent in 2015 to .06 in 2016, say the statistics.
