As the regular season winds down, Jefferson High’s hoopsters swept Lone Peak last week, then managed a split at home against their emerging rival, East Helena.

The Panther boys beat Lone Peak, 61-51, avenging a tough loss earlier in the season. Hunter Stevens and Tyler Frydenlund led a quick start, combining to score 11 points as Jefferson raced to a 17-12 first-quarter lead. The Panthers outscored the Bighorns 19-9 in the second, going into halftime with a nice cushion.

But Frydenlund scored 7 points in the final period, and Jefferson hung on for the win. Frydenlund led the Panthers with 18 points, while Stevens scored 14 and Wyatt Geier 11.
