Hoopsters have strongest week of season

With tournament time looming, Jefferson High’s basketball teams enjoyed their strongest week of the season. The boys walloped off Ennis and Sweet Grass County, while the lady Panthers edged Ennis 42-40 and then came close to knocking off undefeated Sweet Grass in the closest game the Herders have had this year.

The Panther boys wasted no time in Ennis. Avery Stiles started the game with a three pointer, then Trent McMaster, Tyler Harrington and Jaxson Yanzick all got in the score book as Jefferson surged to a 17-7 first quarter lead. JHS poured it on in the second, making great passes on the way to a 42-25 cushion at the half. 

The third quarter was more of the same. Much more. It was Josiah Williams hitting a pair of two pointers, Stiles with three free throws and a steal and a dunk, then a great assist by Joey Visser to Derek Nygaurd. And just like that, the Panthers were up 63-29.
