Harold E. Barry passed away Friday, Feb. 23, 2024 of natural causes. He was 87 years old.
Harold was born in Boulder on July 2, 1936 to Lillian (Glass) Barry and Gerald Barry. He grew up in Boulder where he attended grade and high school. After, he joined the Marine Corps on Jan. 11, 1954. Harold served three years of active duty and another five years in the reserves until Jan. 10, 1962.
He married Lorna Ulsher on Nov. 17, 1958 in Butte. They were married for 64 years at the time of her passing. Harry retired from the federal government after 27 years of service. He and Lorna traveled to Arizona for many years.
Harold was preceded in death by his wife Lorna; his parents; daughter Becky Benson; granddaughter Karrah Dion; sisters Lillian Shute, Nellie Shoquist, Dolly Giulio, and Lois Braach. He is survived by his children Todd Barry (Leslie), Vicki Barry-Dion (Wayne), Troy Barry; and grandchildren Colin, Keeley, Shelbi, Teagon, Kahsiah and Ethan.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, Apr. 26, 2024 at 12:30 p.m. at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home, 3750 N Montana Ave. in Helena. A graveside service will follow at the Montana State Veteran’s Cemetery-Fort Harrison, 3550 Heroes Rd. in Helena.
