Gee gets five years for escaping jail

Tory Vincent Gee, the man who escaped from Jefferson County Detention Center last Oct. 11 and was apprehended a week later in Lake County, was sentenced April 8 to five years in prison.

Prior to sentencing, Gee pleaded guilty to escape, a charge he pleaded not guilty to last Nov. 13. After Gee’s change of plea on that charge, prosecutors dropped a charge of criminal mischief to which Gee had also pleaded not guilty on Nov. 13.

Montana Fifth Judicial District Court Judge Luke Berger credited 161 days to Gee’s sentence for time already served following his arrest Oct. 18, 2019 on a farm outside of Charlo.
