Fugitive sought in Basin June 20 SEARCH ENDS WITH ARREST SOUTH OF DILLON NEXT DAY

Basin was stirring with activity last week as U.S. Marshals searched for a fugitive and Basin was stirring with rumors afterward. The man, who has a history of drug convictions stretching over more than 30 years, was wanted for failing to show up for court on his latest federal indictment for distributing methamphetamine. 

Richard Dean Miller was eventually arrested south of Dillon and is being held in the Yellowstone County jail in Billings. Basin community members first became aware something was afoot when federal agents were in town and a helicopter circled above on Tuesday, June 20.
