Four more years for Boulder leaders

Mayor Rusty Giulio, City Council President Drew Dawson and City Council member Pat Lewis are set to serve new terms in Boulder starting later this year, as no other candidates registered by the June 11 deadline.

“I think it’s great,” said Dawson. “We all work well together. We’re not afraid of sharing our comments and views. It’s a very positive working relationship and I look forward to continuing to work with the other members and the mayor.”

As it is now too late for new write-in candidates, all three will win by acclamation on the municipal election date of Nov. 4 due to the absence of opposition. The question for Boulder, beyond the potentially troubling lack of new political blood, is whether the trio will find ways to improve local services and spur economic development.
