For mental health, dreaming the (for now) impossible

When the traveling theater and mental health outfit State of Mind visited Clancy earlier this month, they asked a question: If you had $10 million to spend on mental health services in your county, what would you build?

Remarkably, all four groups handed the hypothetical scenario – each made up of locals, county officials, and mental health professionals – independently arrived at the same answer: an integrated care facility with comprehensive physical and mental health services under one roof.

“I was surprised that all four groups wanted the same thing,” Pam Hanna, Jefferson County Public Health Supervisor, told The Monitor. “Everybody in that congregation identified it as a priority.”
