Food drive for JHS students, others

RELATED

My name is Jadyn Bellander. I am in the Red Ants Pants Girls Leadership program put together by Sarah Calhoune. As a junior at Jefferson High School, I am working closely with Rochelle Hesford on a community service project. My project has the goal of offering support to fellow students at Jefferson High School who may not be able to afford food over weekends and other times of break from school.

I am asking for support from Jefferson County to participate in my food drive. This drive will take place Jan. 28 through Feb. 11. Please bring nonperishable and unexpired food to any of the locations. Donation boxes are at Jefferson High School, Boulder Elementary School, Basin Elementary School, Clancy Library, Boulder Community Library, Montana City School and other locations around Boulder.

All food will be donated to the Jefferson High School Food Bank and JeffCo Food Share. Both of these places benefit JHS students as well as other community members. Any student demonstrating a need for assistance can come to the Jefferson High School Food Pantry at any time to get food. JeffCo Food Share is open the second Thursday of each month from noon to 3 p.m. They offer food at no charge for anyone in need.
