Fires destroy two structures near Jefferson City

Two structures in the Jefferson City Volunteer Fire Department District were lost in separate fires over the past week. No injuries were sustained.

The first was a family home off Highway 282 Thursday afternoon. Reported shortly after 3 p.m., the fire was battled by firefighters from Jefferson City, Clancy, Montana City and East Valley volunteer fire departments. Also responding to the fire were Eagle Ambulance, Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies and Montana Highway Patrol.

JCVFD Chief Bud Siderits said firefighters also received assistance from NorthWestern Energy and the Montana Department of Transportation.
