Fair board hears plans for Halloween 2019

Planning for countywide Halloween celebrations “has taken on a life of its own” now that enthusiastic support has coalesced behind it, Jefferson County Events Coordinator Bruce Binkowski told the Fair Board November 20.

Halloween committees formed in Boulder and Whitehall earlier this fall and became more certain of the idea following the 93rd annual convention of the Rocky Mountain Association of Fairs, held November 7-10 in Billings. Binkowski told board members that the convention made clear that “people love events,” and that Halloween is an especially “universally loved” event the county could capitalize on.

With both communities looking to make Halloween a celebration that lasts more than one night, Binkowski told the board it has “a lot of potential to be a countywide event” taking place over multiple weekends.
