Dirt is moving at Town Pump in anticipation of its upcoming expansion. The company is in the process of leveling a site so that it can relocate its diesel island, according to Dan Sampson, Town Pump construction and development manager. The main project is expected to begin in March. The City of Boulder is still waiting on a commitment from Sky Top Ranch for the retaining pond to be used for stormwater management, said Sampson. The roughly 100,000 square foot expansion will be built behind the existing store and the remaining area would be repaved and contoured and fueling islands redesigned. Once construction on the new building begins, it’s expected to take about seven months.  Upon completion, the old store will be demolished.  (Diana McFarland/Boulder Monitor)
