District court proceedings

The following criminal cases were heard in district court in Boulder September 20 and 21. 

A woman who initially claimed self-defense after running over her boyfriend with a vehicle reached a plea agreement that reduced the felony attempted deliberate homicide charge she faced.

Courtney Norman told the court she was guilty of misdemeanor negligent homicide and misdemeanor accident involving another person resulting in injury.Norman initially told law enforcement she ran over her boyfriend after he tried to shoot her May 3. She claimed she has discovered he was cheating on her and when she tried to leave she hit his truck, leading him to get a gun. That story did not hold up under investigation, though, law enforcement officers said.
