‘Tis the season of snowfall and scholarship applications, and the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is prepared for the latter. Partnering with the American Indians Committee, the Daughters of the American Revolution are now accepting applications for 27 national scholarship opportunities.
Graduating high school students, college undergraduates and graduate students have until Jan. 31, 2023 to submit their applications to dar.academicworks.com.
Scholarships are available for students majoring in most subjects including American history, education, nursing, business and chemistry.
The American Indians Committee is also offering a scholarship for tribal members and one for the children or stepchildren of dues-paying Daughters of the American Revolution members.
The Daughters of the American Revolution also plan to award four students a $5,000 America 250 scholarship in support of America’s 250th anniversary. Only students who are already in college pursuing an American history degree are eligible.
Not all scholarship opportunities require applicants to be members or related to members of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Oro Fino Chapter Scholarship Committee co-chairs Jean O’Connor and Jane Hamman are seeking assistance from local community members in reviewing the applications received. From Feb. 1 through mid-March 2023, volunteers will review applications in their field of expertise to determine scholarship winners.
