County to pitch Cowboy Hall of Fame plans

After the Montana Cowboy Hall of Fame and Western Heritage Center board last April denied Jefferson County’s proposal to be the site of its museum and heritage center, county officials pressed on.

They kept planning, and on Saturday Commissioner Leonard Wortman will state their case to the organization’s membership at its annual meeting in Great Falls, in hopes they will vote no on the two proposals the board chose.

Early last December, at Wortman’s urging the County Commission approved paying up to $25,000 for an environmental assessment and economic development feasibility study of the site’s proposed location near the I-15 interchange.
