Corbin Road residents call for new surface

Jefferson City residents and other locals expressed fears and frustrations about flying rocks, rampant dust, and potential health issues due to the new surfaces of Corbin and Wickes roads. 

Corbin resident Dave Hanks has struggled to find relief from the dust kicked up by passing vehicles since the Jefferson County Road Department’s resurfacing last summer, he told county commissioners at an Apr. 1 meeting.   

Hanks believes his family’s emerging health issues are related to months of breathing dust mixed with fumes and debris. Another local explained how bits of rock flying up from the road surface had broken windshields and chipped paint on their vehicles. “I don’t think you realize what we have gone through up there,” the unidentified resident said.
