Clancy wins Little League title

Young and old flocked to the Clancy baseball fields and looked anxiously toward the sky as rain clouds loomed over the North Jefferson Little League Baseball championship between Clancy and Montana City on Thursday, June 1. 

Spring in Montana may be the season for showers, but it’s also the season for baseball. Yellow and red jerseys shone brightly against a picturesque backdrop of rocky hilltops and deep green fields, clustered with children reaching over fences eager to feed the patient horses on the other side.

Those in attendance had anticipated this match-up all year. Montana City had captured the championship a year prior, but in the two teams’ previous meetings earlier this season, both games resulted in wins for Clancy. In fact, Augustine Properties of Clancy had yet to lose a contest all season long.
