The Clancy Water and Sewer District board received some positive news at its monthly meeting Oct. 23, signaling some positive motion for its long-stalled project to bring a water system to the community.
Joel Pilcher from Great West Engineering (GWE) reported that a second test well had been drilled on a property owned by Steve Marks, and water samples had been taken and sent out for quality testing. Pilcher said the well depth was about 390 feet, and was producing about 100 gallons per minute in initial pump tests. He noted the depth was unusual compared to other nearby wells that are being monitored during the testing. “We didn’t get to water until at least 230 feet,” Pilcher told the board.
Board member Bob Johnson confirmed with Pilcher that the well monitoring was continuing, addressing concerns from nearby well owners about disturbance in the water tables. Pilcher said that both GWE and the drilling contractor, Excel Drilling, had been working closely with the neighbors near the test well drilling.
