Clancy teacher leaving for exec job at Montana Learning Center

Clancy middle school science teacher Ryan Hannahoe will start as the Montana Learning Center’s full-time director on June 1, a role he has filled part-time for three years while teaching at the school. Hannahoe is resigning from his job at Clancy school to take on the full-time position at the Montana Learning Center.

Hannahoe, 34, has been involved with the Montana Learning Center since 2013. He started on the summer camp staff and became the chair of the board within a couple years after that. He eventually got hired as the center’s part-time executive director, working as a middle school teacher full time.

The Montana Learning Center is facility at Canyon ferry Lake in Helena that focuses on educating students and teachers on science, technology, electronics, arts and mathematics through experiences in an outdoor environment. In Hannahoe’s time on the board, the learning center has adopted astronomy and NASA components because of Hannahoes background in astronomy, astrophysics and working for NASA. July 6, the learning center will have the opening of its astronomical park that features its first dedicated telescope, the largest public-use telescope in Montana.
