Clancy School levy fails, Gallagher wins

Clancy School’s request to voters for an increase in levies — which joined the candidates on the May 2 ballot — failed to gather the majority of votes needed to pass.

According to the unofficial ballot count, 342 people voted against the increase and 249 voted in support.

The proposed levy request would have permanently increased the amount of annual taxes collected by $214,520.42, and would have been used to help cover required expenditures, according to Clancy School District Clerk Jennifer Goehring.
