City council trims field of attorney applicants

The June 21 Boulder City Council meeting was a busy one, with actions on city attorney applicants, a million dollar claim for lost wages by a former employee, the hiring of a new chief of police, the recognition of a retiring clerk and more. (See separate article on the wage loss claim and new chief of police in this issue.)

Boulder is likely to receive a $52,065 grant to upgrade Centennial Park, East Side Park and Mable Redfield Children’s Park, city officials learned. A grant application to the Montana FWP Land & Water Conservation was “one of the top grant applications received this cycle,” said a letter from Montana State Parks Assistant Administrator Tom Reilly. “I am providing this tentative approval and stating that your project will likely be funded at the $52,065 amount requested, knowing there are several formal steps ahead.”

He cautioned that the grant approval process is “somewhat complicated on the federal side and takes a bit of time.”
