City council raises wages for law enforcement

Budget changes to accept and expend grant money and other unanticipated funds were among the tasks taken up by the Boulder City Council March 19.

Among the grants were money from the state for providing police and fire fighter protection at the Montana Developmental Center, a heart monitor for the ambulance and funds from gas taxes and police training in excess of amounts anticipated when the budget was set nearly a year ago. The council heard a plan to use extra fuel tax funds to chip seal five blocks of Adams Street.

While those items took up a fair amount of time at the council meeting, two other items – law enforcement wages and a proposal for the Montana Cowboy Hall of Fame – prompted more discussion.
