A 50-year-old woman led officers on a high-speed pursuit last week, after allegedly stealing her get away car from a former roommate.
Kimberly Wilson, led officers from a Helena hotel parking lot, through town and south on Interstate 15 through Jefferson County.
Jefferson County Deputies Bullis and Fox deployed the stop stick across I-15, which eventually took out one of Wilson’s tires.
Grimsrud told The Monitor that stop sticks are carried in all patrol vehicles, and officers are trained how to use them.
Wilson was apprehended by the Lewis and Clark County Sheriff’s Office after crashing into a guard rail near Basin. She now faces the potential of five felony and three misdemeanor charges , including those for obstructing a police officer and possession of dangerous drugs.
