Boulder approves $2.2M for new water system

Boulder’s City Council at its June 16 meeting approved a $2.2 million grant and loan package to complete financing for the latest phase of its ongoing water system improvement project.

The new funding will allow the completion of the city’s new Well Five to be drilled in July on the campus of the Montana Highway Patrol. The package also will support the construction of a wellhouse and other improvements.

The city already had allocated $1.1 million in grants from the American Rescue Project Act (ARPA) to the water system project. The new funding comes from the Montana Department of Natural Resource Conservation’s Drinking Water State Revolving Fund, in two parts.
