Bernadine (Karen) Giulio, a longtime Boulder resident who had a big heart and loved the Lord Jesus, died June 25 at the age of 79.

Karen was born in Dickinson, N.D. on Dec. 29, 1945, the daughter of Fred and Muriel Hendrickson. Her parents predeceased her, as did her sisters Angaline Fischer and Angaletta Schollmeyer and a brother, Sidney Allan Hendrickson.

Karen is survived by her husband, Dennis Giulio; a third sister, Helen Dixon; two sons, Todd A. (Sheri) Sullivan and Trent M. (Jeri) Sullivan; grandkids Sharaya (Brandon) Doney, Bridger Sullivan and Shijia Sullivan; great-grandson Kayden Humphries and step-grandkids Seth Miller and Abby Miller. She also had 10 nieces and nephews, many great-nieces and great-nephews, and good friends — the very best.
