As postseason looms, Panther grapplers split at Duals

As the post-season nears, Jefferson High’s wrestling squad faced a packed weekend, with the boys navigating a tough dual match at home and then the Class BC Dual Team Tournament, while the girls joined a big two-day event in Lewistown.

The Panthers hosted Lincoln County High School on Jan. 22. This was Senior Night, and Jefferson honored Cooper Mikesell, Madison Neely, Mike Richard and manager Kennedy Thornton.

The 5th-ranked Lions have provided some tough competition in the past few years, and this matchup had the potential to be another great battle. On this evening, though, Lincoln jumped out to a big lead, and the Panthers couldn’t make up enough ground, falling 36-48. Russell Douglas, Mike Richard, Cooper Mikesell, Thomas Johnson, Tellen Simanton and Andrew Rodriguez all scored points for Jefferson.
