Arthur Duawne Soelter — a.k.a. Artie, Little Artie or Star —was born in Billings on Aug. 25, 1962 to Vance Lee Soelter and Patricia Ann Soelter. He passed away on Jan. 17, 2024, at the age of 61, in Dillon, where he had resided for the past few years.

Art lived in East Helena for a while before moving to Boulder, where he placed his roots until he was unable to care for himself.

He was a rebel at heart. He always told one story to the next of wild adventures in his younger days. He loved motorcycles and his dirt bikes along with his dog Gizmo. He was also a frequent flier at the Windsor bar and Phil and Tim’s for his coffee or just to socialize and to play on keno machines.

Arthur’s surviving family includes a daughter, Danielle Avery, and her husband Russel Avery; grandchildren Verne, Leona (Josh), Cen, Hailey and Tobey, J.; great-grandchildren Max and Miles; sister Linda Rogers (Wayne); niece Patricia Rogers and her children Scott (Maggie), Sierra, Cruz, and Bentley; and nephew James Rogers and his children Cadance and Kobey. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, his brother Shaun Morrison, and a grandson, Johnny Yoder.

We have been blessed with the Boulder community, which helped make Art at home there; and by those in Dillon who took care of him and gave him the same respect and hospitality.

Art will be deeply missed by his beloved family and friends. Any donations in his honor can be sent to Animal Shelter & Care of Jefferson County, P.O. Box 377, Boulder, MT 59632.
