Arla Marie Bullock, age 79, passed away at Copper Ridge Health and Rehab Center in Butte on Thursday, December 21st surrounded by family. She was born on May 18, 1938 in Missoula to George Woods and Sophie (Newbauer) Woods.

Arla attended a one-room grade school in Swan River before attending high school in Missoula. She eventually graduated from Jefferson High School in Boulder after the family moved to Basin where she met the love of her life, Allan John Bullock. They married on February 10, 1956 in Butte. They settled down in Basin and soon had two children together. Arla also worked as the postmaster in Basin for 30 years where she made many lifelong friendships. Over the years, John and Arla lived in Cut Bank and eventually settled back in Butte. Arla loved to travel, spend time with friends and family while spoiling her grandchildren who lovingly remember her as ‘Mudder’. She was a bright shining light full of positive energy even as she battled with painful arthritis for most of her adult life.

She is preceded in death by her father George Woods, her mother Sophie (Newbauer) Woods, brother Paul Woods and sister Kay Ellen (Gus) Bader. Left to honor and remember Arla are husband Allan John Bullock, daughter Bonnie (David) Ramey and son Daniel Bullock; grandchildren Jason (Angela) Ramey, Kelson (Katie) Ramey, Derek (Bianca) Bullock and Devyn (Doug) Johnson; sisters Helen (Don) O’Neill, Joan (Steve) Pallister and Nancy (Monty) Grover, brother George (Jackie) Woods and sister-in-law Jessie Faye Kloppenberg; and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
