Advanced learning advances at Jefferson High

With its advanced courses growing in number and popularity, Jefferson High is pursuing nearly $150,000 in state funding to add more college-style classes, career support and trade instruction.

In mid-October, the school applied for the Montana Office of Public Instruction’s Transformational Learning grant, which provides $52,000 to boost digital learning access for full-time, part-time, and homeschooled students. The money would pay for dual credit tuition, transportation to college courses, teacher training and technology for blended learning.

And this month Jefferson High plans to apply for $95,000 from the Montana Advanced Opportunity grant, which supports work-based learning experiences like internships, dual credit courses and industry certifications for high school students.
