A nightclub grows in Boulder

The first stage of Dave’s 32 oz makeover is well underway.

After buying the popular Boulder bar last month, new owner Micheal Tolley is wasting little time bringing his live music and dancehall vision to fruition. In the last few weeks, Tolley has torn out the bowling ball return machines and the bowling seating area, in addition to installing a mechanical bull.

Much work remains, but assuming all goes well, by late February Tolley hopes to reveal the new dance floor at the newly renamed Whiskey Heaven, inspired by his favorite Fats Domino song. Toss in a mechanical bison and an axe throwing cage, and it’s easy to see why Tolley hopes the revived venue will become the heart of Boulder’s nightlife scene.
