A new ‘Zoom Room’ — and a packed November

RELATED

Thanks to the generosity of the Friends of the Library, the Boulder Community Library now has a Zoom Room.

The Zoom Room is exactly what the name suggests — a dedicated room with specialized equipment to accommodate Zoom meetings, which allows participants to connect virtually in an interactive online video conference. The need for this type of space and service became more evident during the pandemic, as more folks needed to reliably connect for appointments, meetings, presentations and more.

The Friends determined that providing the equipment was a great goal. They did their research, raised funds and met their goal.

The Zoom Room has good audio and video capabilities and can be used for any digital meeting software (i.e. TEAMS). The equipment includes a camera that picks up the entire room, speakers that allow better audio and microphones to better project so participants can be heard. Library Director Jodi Smiley said, “It is wonderful to be able to offer our patrons this technology. Not only can it be used for meetings, it can also be used as a way to have authors, online programs, etc. What a great thing!”

The room is available by reservation for patron and community use. Call the front desk at 406-225-3241 for more information and sign up.
