Maximus and Athena Once upon a time there was a horse named Maximus he would always get to school early and would keep his grades up no matter what, Maximus was the perfect colt. When he was just a small foal his parents would always tell him the rules of the stable/barn.
One very important rule was not to take the grain from the tack room, even though it was very tempting. The reason not to take too much grain is that it can be very harmful and addictive. Things it can do to a horse are bloating, and if left untreated for too long the horse can die.
One day a new filly came to his school. This fillies name was Athena, she had a beautiful mane. Athena and Maximus quickly became friends. The more Maximus was with Athena, the more his grades had dropped. Maximus would show up late to school almost every day. No one knew why this was happening, Maximus was a total different person since Athena came to the school.
Now every day at school the two foals would always arrive late together, skip out on school together, and leave home. The parents had no idea that this had been going on. Sooner or later they just had stopped showing up to school. The more that Maximus was with Athena the more bad habits he had gained.
Then one night Maximus’s was with Athena, they snuck out and Athena wanted Maximus to take the grain. Maximus had told her he was not to do that. Athena had threatened him to get it or they would no longer be friends. Once Athena had said that, he had grabbed the grain. Maximus then started to run so that he would not get caught by his parents.
This was the very first time Maximus had ever stole the grain. His parents were noticing that he was getting bloated more often and he was acting weird. His parents then became suspicious of what he was doing. So, one night his parents were waiting in the tack room to see if he was stealing the grain. Soon enough they heard him come in the tack room and they watched him steal the grain.
Ever since his parents have found out, Maximus was no longer allowed to hang out with Athena. Maximus soon learned the consequences of stealing the grain, and because he chose to do that he lost all of his friends, and more importantly his parents’ trust.
