Boulder shuttle faces risk of shutdown

Whitehall Public Transportation Manager Teresa Oyama is at a loss. 

Since starting her position in February it’s been her intention to get an employee for the Boulder area to help service the needs of the community, but no one is stepping up to apply.

This may not be a new issue, but it’s a pressing one. Whitehall Public Transportation received funds for its Boulder service in 2020 – just before COVID hit – through a Department of Transportation grant, and the program was given three years to essentially get off the ground. If there is little change by the beginning of a fourth fiscal year in July of 2023, the service may no longer exist in Boulder.
