Santa will undoubtedly have to make a bounty of stops this Christmas Eve as the children of Jefferson County have “tried really hard to be good this year.” And while Beckett may have made his baby brother cry, he made up for it and likely earned a spot on Santa’s “nice list” by doing his chores not just once, but twice.
Additionally, each child who requested a present for their parents, a sibling or a friend in lieu of a gift for themselves has triggered a smile upon all our faces at The Monitor and have embodied the true spirit of Christmas. We hope that all the parents – even Cambri’s, who were only “pretty good” this year – receive a gift from Santa under their tree.
While concern for presents exists among the kids’ letters to Santa Claus, they were above all curious as to the intimate details of Santa Claus’ life.
“Do you like milk or cookies better?” asked Liam Fox.
“How long have you been Santa?” asked another child. “Why did you want to be Santa?” probed yet another.
These letters to Santa were received from teachers at Montana City School, Clancy School, Boulder Elementary School and Basin School and published in The Monitor to ensure that old Saint Nick and his helpers knew what each child hoped to receive this Christmas.
