The Jefferson Panthers hosted the Broadwater High Bulldogs for their 2022 homecoming game on Friday, Sept. 23.
Although the Panthers maintained a close distance to Broadwater for most the face-off, the Bulldogs’ big runs kept the Panthers behind.
Quarterback Luke Oxarart scored the first touchdown for the Panthers in the first quarter, bringing the score to 7-21.
The Panthers kicked the second quarter off with a field goal by senior Dylan Root. During a run by Broadwater, Root intercepted a catch on the Bulldogs’ 35-yard line, but it didn’t amount to a touchdown for the Panthers.
The third quarter opened on the 50-yard line with 10 points for the Panthers and 21 for the Bulldogs. Two minutes into the quarter, Zack Zody intercepted a throw on the Bulldogs’ 16-yard line. Oxarart followed the play up with a touchdown.
With no points earned in the fourth quarter, the Panthers fell short to the Bulldogs 17-27.
