Elmer “John” Allen Cure, 79, of Box Elder, MT passed away on February 4, in his sleep while at home.

Elmer was born in Fort Belknap on September 4, 1942. Upon graduating high school in 1961, he joined the US military in the Marine Corps division. In four years of service to this country, he fought in the Vietnam war and became a Lance Corporal E-3 with many honors on his badge. 

He was honorably discharged from the military and went into the horse-trading business that he was so well known for. Later in life, he met Ina Thompson and together they raised five children. Elmer was a silently stern man who had a firm hand with a loving heart. He was one of the “good ole boys” through and through and was one hard-working son of a gun.
