The year is coming to a close, and as we cross off the final days of our calendars, people everywhere are reflecting on their mishaps, accomplishments and growth. They’re preparing to set new resolutions and focusing their thoughts to manifest a better year next year.
I’ve been doing much of the same; however, I found myself contemplating my annual successes and failures in an unusual location: chopping down my Christmas tree.
My roommate requested I purchase a plastic tree for our apartment, but I have always been partial to decorating a live tree for the holidays. Although I’d only chopped down a live tree once while in college – an adventure I’d love to tell you about on another day – I was determined to do it again this year.
