The Basin Water and Sewer Board will meet on Thursday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. at Basin School to discuss the newly awarded project involving replacing curb stops with water meters and meter pits. The project was awarded to Helena Sand and Gravel, one of four bidders.
According to Basin Water and Sewer Board Treasurer DeDe Rhodes, the special meeting was scheduled because the water meter project could potentially affect the county’s plans to take the crown out of Basin Street.
The board also approved a survey to assist with grant monies for future projects, as Rhodes said the mean income for Jefferson County is currently estimated at $100,000, and she’s fairly certain that’s a far cry from Basin’s mean income. Survey results are expected in the next two weeks.
