City budget finalization delayed, will reconvene Wednesday morning

On Monday, Sept. 11, the Boulder City Council met to finalize the 2023-24 fiscal year budget, at least that was the council’s intent. Finalizing the budget has been delayed until 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 13, when the council will reconvene at City Hall. The reason for the delay involves the inability to reach city accountant Michael Blakely. 

According to City Council member Bear Taylor, the City still needs to determine final adjustments to the revenue and expenditure budget regarding health insurance and making sure departments don’t go over cash reserves. 

“And a multitude of other little things,” he said.
