Clancy Water and Sewer considers new well testing

The Clancy Water and Sewer District Board expressed concern over the state of its long-pursued public water project, during a Dec. 18 meeting where it presented a year-end summary of the effort to date.  

“We’re back to square one,” said Clancy Water and Sewer board president Lori Gilliland, which was a sentiment also expressed by other board members. 

The board received negative news in December regarding the laboratory water quality test results for its second well. The water samples taken from “Well 3” on the Marks property in Clancy contained undesirable levels of contaminants, including elevated levels of radionuclides – which are indicators of naturally occurring uranium decay. Great West Engineering (GWE), though absent from the meeting, proposed in an email to allow Excel Drilling to assist in additional contaminant testing.
