I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Watching the boys and girls start their wrestling and basketball practices over the last couple of weeks has been really exciting; it certainly looks like another very strong season to come for Jefferson High sports.
Basketball will start its regular season Dec. 13 and 14 at a great tournament in Three Forks. The boys and girls teams play Shepherd on the 13th and Drummond on the 14th. Meanwhile, the wrestlers will begin this weekend with a tournament in Cascade. The wrestling team looked great at an intramural mixer last Saturday, and they’re ready to get the season started.
High school sports, nothing better.
Meantime, there’s plenty of college sports action in the area. Montana Tech, in Butte, and Carroll College, in Helena, are short trips, and both schools are very competitive in the Frontier Conference, often featuring Jefferson High grads. Sporting events at the University of Montana and Montana State aren’t far, either.
