Clancy Community Center nears repair start

The former Clancy School gymnasium in 2020. Work is set to start in the next few months on a new floor, roof repairs, and plumbing and heating.

The committee leading the project to update Clancy’s “Old Gym” into a community center reviewed and selected contractor bids  and tentatively scheduled work to begin over the next few months, as weather and contractor schedules permit.

The bids, for a new floor, roof repairs, interior plumbing and heating, now await confirmation by the County.

The Clancy Community Center project has been in progress for about two years. The effort aims to convert the old gymnasium used by Clancy School from 1965 until the new school facility opened in 1982. Since then, the gym had fallen into disrepair after being used for several purposes, most recently for overflow storage for the elementary school.
